Why cork? The cork that is used in the construction of my surfboards comes from a cork farm in Portugal. The cork trees are constantly rejuvinating and you dont need to cut down the tree to harvest the cork, you simply strip the tree and it grows back. It also makes an excellent surface to ride and adds durabilty to your surfboard.
